About Us
Willis Bond Capital Partners is a fund managed by Willis Bond Management Limited, a subsidiary of Willis Bond & Company Limited.
Willis Bond & Co was formed in 1988 and from the outset the company’s focus was on the commercial property and private equity markets.
In 1993, Willis Bond & Co formed New Zealand’s first private equity fund manager, Pencarrow Funds Management, jointly with Morrison & Co. In 1994, Willis Bond & Co and Morrison & Co jointly formed Property For Industry, which is still one of New Zealand’s best–regarded listed property companies. The management contract of Property For Industry was sold to AMP in 1999.
The company’s experience and expertise in funds management and the property and private equity markets have added enormous value to the financial analysis and execution of its projects. A particular focus on in-depth due diligence is applied to the property investment activities. While this approach sometimes resulted in the company missing out on investments, it has also meant that those that all it has committed to were successful and profitable.
Willis Bond & Co has become a market leader in mixed-use (residential, office and retail) developments in New Zealand. Recent projects include the Chews Lane Precinct redevelopment which, at $175 million end value, is one of New Zealand’s largest inner-city mixed-use redevelopments. The next major project is the proposed Overseas Passenger Terminal redevelopment, which has recently been awarded a resource consent from the Environment Court.
